Clement ‘Coxson Dodd

Few, if any producers have exerted a greater influence on their nation’s music industry Clement Seymour Dodd.

After establishing his hugely popular Sir Coxson’s Downbeat sound system sets in the late fifties, he embarked on a career as a music maker, studio owner and pressing plant owner – producing and manufactuturing an unrivalled catalogue of R&B, ska, rock steady and reggae classics.

26th January 2017  would have been been his 85th birthday and to mark the occassion, a newly posted bio and spotify playlist, comprising 30 of his best-known works can be found in the Artists section of this website.
