The Abyssinians

Few Jamaican acts are more widely revered than the Abyssinians.

Despite their limited output, the trio recorded some of the most groundbreaking and significant works of the 1970s, with a number of their recordings regarded as the finest of the roots era.

To mark the birthday of founding member Bernard Collins on10th November, the group are this week’s Trojan Artist Of The Week, with their short, but magnificent recording career providing the focus for a newly posted bio and spotify playlist, highlighting 30 of their most celebrated tracks.
