Winston Wright – Master Of The Hammond Organ
Such is the fickle nature of music business that often those who wield the greatest influence go unaccredited. This was never more true than in the case of Winston ‘Brubeck’ Wright.
This supreme master of his instrument played on innumerable recordings throughout the golden age of Jamaican music, yet his name is unknown outside reggae circles.
In fact not that much known is known about him even by those who most cherish his music, with very little information widely available on the man or his influential career in music.
To mark the the anniversary of the recording for which he is best-known among reggae fans entering the Brish pop charts, Winston is this week’s Trojan Artist of the Week, with a new bio and playlist posted in the Artists section on this site.
