Eric Donaldson: Mr Festival

Eric Donaldson‘s unrivalled success at the Jamaican Song Festival has resulted in him becoming known as ‘Mr. Festival’, the singer having won the contest a record breaking seven times.

Born and raised in Bog Walk/Kent Village, St Catherine, on 11th June 1947, Eric fronted popular Kingston-based vocal trio, the West Indians, before launching his solo career in 1971, when he immediately found success with the oft-covered Festival song winner, ‘Cherry Oh Baby‘.

Numerous hits and Festival song victories have since followed and today, Eric is still busy making great music!
