Free Desmond Dekker Download!
Recorded at the Caribbean Festival Dance at London’s Alexandra Palace on 16th October 1971, Desmond Dekker‘s ‘Pickney Gal’ was among a number of tracks by the likes of the Maytals, John Holt, Hopeton Lewis, Greyhound and Byron Lee & The Dragonaires that Trojan had intended to feature on an album celebrating the event.
Unfortunately, technical problems resulted in only a handful of tracks being taped and instead of issuing an album of the best of the day’s performances, Trojan released a selection of previously recorded studio cuts by the featured acts.
Now, 45 years on, this previously unreleased live track from the concert can not only finally be heard, but also obtained as a free download for all those signing up to the monthly Trojan newsletter!
