London International Ska Festival Spotify Takeover

With the eagerly awaited London International Ska Festival due to take place from 13th to 16th April,  Spotify users will be able to hear  some of the sounds that will be heard at the various events by checking out the ‘This Is Trojan’ playlist over the forthcoming four weeks.

Festival founder and Pama International main man, Sean Flowerdew, who has personally selected the 80 tracks that will feature on the playlist, had the following to say:

“We are delighted to have been asked to compile a Trojan Records spotify playlist highlighting artists past and present that have performed at The London Intl Ska Festival & Trojan‘s rich heritage in Jamaican music.


The London International Ska Festival was the first of it’s kind, having launched in 1988.  In its 29 years of celebrating ska, rock steady, reggae and beyond. so many bonafide legends have graced the the festival stage., with their numberincluding Prince Buster, Laurel Aitken, Derrick Morgan, Delroy Wilson, Alton Ellis, Desmond Dekker, Derrick Harriott, Justin Hinds, the Skatalites, Tommy McCook, Roland Alphonso, Lester Sterling, Ken Boothe, Marcia Griffiths, Rico Rodriguez, Horace Andy, Lee Perry, Keith & Tex, Freddie Notes, Ken Parker, Dennis Alcapone, Bob Andy, Stranger Cole and U Roy.



2017‘s edition continues this tradition of classic ska & reggae legends with world exclusives from Owen Gray, the Pioneers, Dave & Ansel Collins, Roy Ellis performing his Symarip-Skinhead Moonstomp album in full, plus tributes to John Holt-1000 Volts of Holt and Phyllis Dillon.
