Foundation artist, Owen Gray was present at the  birth of the modern Jamaican recording industry. After making his mark as one of the island’s most popular singer-songwriters in the late fifties, he recorded hit singles for every major producer of note before eventually relocating to the UK in 1962.

Over the next two decades he worked for almost every major British-based Jamaican music company, from Island to Trojan, while periods in his native Kingston, the USA and Canada in the 1970s and 1980s yielded further worthy recordings, reinforcing his reputation as one of the finst vocalists in the history of reggae msuic.
