The mid-Seventies witnessed the rise of Roots Reggae, a style that went on to dominate Jamaican music until the close of the decade.

Focusing upon the Rastafarian faith, political wrong-doings and cultural heritage, Roots Reggae also attracted an international interest, with many of its most significant protagonists signing with UK Rceord companies.
