The Clarendonians
Although not the most celebrated of Jamaican vocal groups, the Clarendonians none the less released some of the most successful ska, rock steady and reggae recordings of the 1960s and early 1970s.
During this time, the ‘group’, which comprised Peter Austin and Ernest Wilson recorded for an array of leading Jamaican producers, including Duke Reid, Coxson Dodd, Leslie Kong, Bunny Lee and Prince Tony, enjoying condireable success with hits such as ‘Rude Boy Gone A Jail’, ‘Sho Be Do Be’, ‘Rudie Bam Bam’, ‘You Can’t Be Happy’, and ‘Darling Forever’, ‘Night Owl’ and ‘Walking Up A One Way Street’.
