The Mighty Dave Barker
When Dave Barker found international fame in 1971 as half of the duo Dave & Ansel Collins, he had already made his name as one of reggae music’s most talented and versatile performers, having scored locally with a number of hugely popular Jamaican hits.
‘Double Barrel’ and ‘Monkey Spanner’ propelled him into the international spotlight and resulted in his relocation to London, and while further major pop hits have since failed to materialise, he remains one of reggae’s most popular live acts in his adopted country and far beyond.
