Trojan 50 Launch Party!

To mark the launch of Trojan’s 50^th Anniversary celebrations, a party was held at the celebrated Caribbean food restaurant, Turtle Bay in Brixton on 5th July.

 

Hosted by noted music writer, Chris Salewicz, things kicked off around 7pm with talks with Don Letts and special guests, former Trojan manager Chips Richards, Locksley Gitchie of one-time Trojan house band, the Cimarons, and our own Laurence Cane-Honeysett.

 

Honoured guests included members of the Gopthal family and Sonny Roberts‘s daughters, along with a number of notable artists, including the mighty Dave Barker, who treated the audience to the opening lines of his UK Number One hit, ‘Double Barrel’.

 

Later, the Trojan Sound System played a blistering set, which had the crowd on its feet until it was time to vacate the premises. A truly memorable night!
